What is an Iced Magic Shroom Tea?

Traditionally a Hot Magic Shroom Tea is an infusion of hot water with magic mushrooms or magic truffles. What you do is boil water, let it sit for a minute or two, then pour the hot water into a cup of ground fresh mushrooms/magic truffles. Then you stir for 10-15 minutes and strain the concoction through a filter so you get the liquids. 


With an Iced Magic Shroom Tea you do the same, except we’ve added a flavor punch of black tea, citrus slices, and sugar. We were inspired by a classic Southern Sweet Tea…and wanted to recreate this crowd-pleaser into a psychedelic concoction. 

Making an Iced Magic Shroom Tea for Two

Prep Time: 10 Minutes 
Freezing Period: 1 Hour
Quantity: 2 Friends (60 grams of Magic Truffles – preferably Druid) 
Trip Report: Less Physical, More of a Head Trip. We recommend drinking during a day at the beach  

Ingredients  

1 liter of water 

250 ml of granulated brown sugar 

4 black tea bags 

60 grams of chopped magic truffles (We used Druid)

some citrus wedges

Recipe

1 ) Bring 1 Liter of Water to a boil, the let it cool for 1 minute 

2 ) Add the water into a pitcher that’s filled with your chopped magic truffles, black tea bags, and granulated sugar  

3 ) Stir occasionally for 5-10 minutes and remove the black tea bags 

4 ) Seep the liquids into a new freeze proof pitcher with citrus wedges 

5 ) Freeze pitcher for 1 hour 

6 ) Add Ice Cubes 

7 ) Enjoy for 2! 

Reusing the spare magic truffles from the tea

Once you’ve finished preparing your trippy tea, you’ll notice that you’re left with 60 grams of magic truffles from Step 4. This is not a waste, so do not throw away!  

Here are 3 ways you can reuse your magic truffles: 

1 ) Make a second batch of Iced Magic Shroom Tea.  

Once you finish making your first batch, redo the recipe. The only thing that changes is that you stir for 20-30 minutes instead of 5-10 minutes on Step 3.  

2 ) Prepare an Extra Strong Iced Magic Shroom Tea. 

Finish making your tea, then refrigerate your Sweet Tea for 1-2 days max with the magic truffles in the tea. Remove magic truffles when you’re ready to drink. 

3 ) Make a Lemon Tek.

Some Tips, Tricks, and Fun facts with the recipe

-If you’re freezing in glass like a Mason Jar, then Freeze your liquids for approximately 1-2 hours. Glass can break in the freezer. That’s why we recommend a freeze-proof pitcher! 

-We strongly recommend chilling the Magic Shroom Tea with lemon citrus, because lemons convert psilocybin to psilocin. That makes your trip impactful.  

-Teas and Coffees are more acidic than psilocybin shrooms, so the compound psilocybin is unstable in a sweet tea. Therefore, consume your psychedelic tea IMMEDIATELY.    

-If you decide to store your Iced Magic Shroom Tea, then definitely keep it under very very very cold conditions. It’s speculated that psilocybin’s shelf life may be prolonged through cold storage.  

-This recipe will leave you feeling mellow and “heady.” A less physical trip.
